Caroline in the City

Hey,

Anyone ever see this show. The soundtrack cues during he episodes were just drum fills and solos. Anyone know who did the drumming for it?

That show has some killer music. Sort of Weckl-ish. The guy who does the music, Jonathan Wolf, is the same guy who does the music for Seinfeld.

Here is Wolf talking a little about the music.

"Fred Barron was an Executive Producer on the first episodes of Seinfeld and Dave's World so I was thrilled to work again with him and Marco Pennette on Caroline in the City. Caroline (Lea Thompson) is a newspaper cartoon artist. In the 1st season, Caroline's own animated cartoon character appeared (in vignette form) in the opening of each episode. So the theme music, while remaining adult and sophisticated, also had to also be appropriate as fun Cartoon underscore. It was a cross between Brazilian party music and Manhattan jazz.
Everything changed in season two when the opening cartoon was replaced with a hard hitting, action packed Main Title salute to newspaper cartoons. My friends at Bryant & Johnsen did a killer job. And I got to create the new high energy drum-driven fusion/rock theme music for it. (It won the Emmy Award for Main Title Design) For transitions, I usually created solo drum cues. There's a raw energy to it. Modern Drummer Magazine even published a piece about the music for this show."
